FAQ #13 – What About BEER In Ecuador?

If you’re a cerveza connoisseur, you’ll be happy to know that beer in Ecuador is widely available (and consumed).

Club and Pilsener are the most popular domestic beers. They’re light beers such as Bud or Miller back in the US. However, craft beer is also growing in popularity throughout Ecuador.

One of the most popular craft beers in Ecuador is Latitude Cero. It can be found in most restaurants and many liquor stores. And there are also small micro-breweries in most of the larger cities like Cuenca, Quito and Guayaquil.

In Cuenca, we enjoyed visiting La Craft Beer Garden and Zarza Brewing Company, both located in the El Vergel neighborhood just south of El Centro.

In the small comuna of Olón, there are three restaurants that sell craft beer: MALI Thai & Asian Cuisine, Bahiio and Altamar.

If good beer is your hobby, Ecuador has plenty of brands and flavors to choose from. No need to worry about being thirsty!
