We’ve lived in Ecuador for several years and we’ve learned who you can trust (and who you can’t). Once you complete the form on this page, we’ll forward your info along to one of our trusted rental agents in the city or area where you would like to rent. Then they’ll be in touch with you as soon as possible to discuss the type of house, condo or land that interests you.
You'll also receive a confirmation email from us with their contact information so you can message them directly. If you need help or would like to provide feedback at any point in the process, just reply to that email and we'll be in touch as soon as we can.
Only qualified, trustworthy relocation experts who have agreed to our Standard of Quality and Competitive Pricing Policies are allowed to be part of our Referral Partner Program. We may receive a referral fee or commission if you decide to work with one of our trusted service providers. This helps us pay the bills so we can continue publishing videos, articles and newsletters about moving and living abroad.
We do our best to only refer qualified, trustworthy service providers; however, the services they provide to you and your experiences with them are outside of our control so we cannot be held responsible if you're dissatisfied with them. Please let us know immediately with as many details as possible if you have an exceptionally negative or positive experience so we can respond accordingly. Gracias!
A Note About Short-Term Rentals in Ecuador
Most rental agents in Ecuador won’t help with short-term vacation rentals. Their fee for helping clients find a rental is paid by the landlord and is based on the lease amount. They get 1 month’s rent for a 12 month lease, a half month’s rent for a 6 to 12 month lease, and 10% of the rental amount for anything less than 6 months.
Since the pay is so low for a short-term stay, but the workload is the same, most choose not to help clients who need a vacation rental. This is no different than any other country. If you were going to spend 10 days or a few weeks visiting Florida, you probably wouldn’t expect a rental agent to help you find a place to stay. You would most likely book it online.
If you're looking for a short-term rental in Ecuador, we recommend AirBnB.com, OLX.com.ec, Real Estate and Rentals in Ecuador on Facebook, or GringoPost.com (for rentals in the Cuenca area). We also recommend Apartamentos Otorongo and Gran Colombia Suites in Cuenca for stays of a week or more.
Most landlords list their vacation rentals on AirBnb so it's the easiest and most common place to find short-term rentals in Ecuador, from a few nights to a month or two.
